How the age is enforced online
Licensed Alberta casinos verify your age before you can play, not on trust. Expect three layers.
- Date of birth at sign-up. Entering a false one breaches the operator’s terms and can void winnings.
- Identity verification (KYC). You confirm who you are with government ID, usually before your first withdrawal and often before your first deposit. KYC stands for “know your customer”, the same checks banks run.
- Geolocation. Sites confirm you’re physically in Alberta while you play. Other provinces have their own rules and their own markets.
